Our First Day was Fabulous!

We had a great first day of school. We read some stories, talked about rules, consequences, and rewards. The treasure hunt around the school was a big hit. Everyone enjoyed their pirate hats and looking for all the alphabet letters, numbers 1-30, and those 25 sight words they learned last school year in kindergarten. The best part of the day was two recesses and having lunch at school. We had some tired friends by the end of the day. They did a great job following directions and I'm sure that tomorrow will be even more fun!

Welcome to First Grade!

Now that class lists are posted it is time to gear up for school yet again. Like many parents, I am trying to get my kids and myself back on a schedule. I am really looking forward to this year in first grade. There are so many fun and exciting things to learn. I am so lucky that I taught Kindergarten last year, because I already know so many of the cute first graders in my class this year. I look forward to meeting with all my new students and their parents at the Meet and Greet on Tuesday, August 25th from 2:30 - 3:30 p.m., and then again on Wednesday, August 26th. Remember that Wednesday students will only come for their 15 minute appointment. School will officially start for first grade on Thursday, August 27th. I can't wait!
